UFC 113: MACHIDA vs. SHOGUN 2

Just a few days away after the Mayweather vs. Mosley fight, another big-time fight will commence by Ultimate Fighting Championship at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in the 8th of May. It’s The Dragon vs. Shogun Fight one more time! It’s the fight that MMA fans have been screaming for since the UFC 104 main event controversy. But before we hear the Veteran Voice of the Octagon Bruce Buffer’s famous octagon shout – This is the main event of the evening, this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for, It’s time!, let’s know the fighters who will square off inside the Octagon.

Lyoto Machida, The Dragon (16 wins, 0 loss, 5 knockouts, 2 submissions and 9 by decisions) – is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and the # 5 MMA pound for pound fighter. He has the unique style of the Machida Karate that executes a wide Shotokan standpoint, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but also has techniques from Sumo Wrestling and an elusive strategy which keeps him at bay while taking strike ala peek-a-boo. With that ability he has defeated noteworthy fighters like Stephan Bonnar, Thiago Silva, Rich Franklin, Rashad Evans, the prodigy-B.J. Penn and Mauricio Shogun Rua, his upcoming opponent. Elusiveness that relies on cautious and precise counter-striking is his best weapon; will it stand out again to defeat the avenging Rua?

Maurio Shogun Rua, (22 wins, 4 losses, 18 knockouts, 2 submissions, 2 by decisions) the former Middleweight PRIDE Fighting Championship 2005 Grand Prix winner, the # 2 Light Heavyweight UFC fighter and the current # 7 MMA pound for pound fighter. Shogun is famous for his wild and aggressive trade mark of using deadly stomp and soccer kicks while fighting in Pride. An excellent Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter holds notable wins over The Iceman - Chuck Liddell, Quinton Rampage Jackson, Alistair Overeem (on twice occasions) and Antonio Rogerio Nogueria. Aggressiveness and revenge will play a great factor for Shogun in fighting the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion – Lyoto Machida. Will his loss to Machida be vindicated and avenged?

UFC fans, it’s time to pick your fighter.
