UFC 113: Goodbye for a Street Fighter and Exit for a Sour Looser

UFC 113 featured two fighters who lost their fights and their job in the UFC in different ways. One was Kimbo Slice who was defeated by Matt Mitrione by a TKO due to punches in Round 2 and the other is Paul Daley who lost his fight to Josh Koscheck by a 3 round unanimous decision in a fight marred by poor sportsmanship manner of Daley.

At the post fight conference UFC President Dana White confirms that Kimbo Slice’s run for glory is done. The UFC President decided to give Kimbo his final slip from the UFC because of Kimbo’s fight with Matt Mitrione was so one sided. It’s a sad goodbye for the internet phenomenal Kimbo Slice who was making a run for his MMA career since his loss to Seth Petruzelli at the now defunct CBS’s EliteXC Promotion then joining the UFC by making a stint at Season 10 The Ultimate Fighter: The Heavyweights in which he lost his first fight to Roy Nelson but made a comeback at his UFC debut with a unanimous win over the dangerous Houston Alexander at TUF 10 finale. Last night fight with Mitrione shows the street fighter had nothing left in his arsenal, he was badly beaten down by a much experienced opponent. Though White sounded disappointed to fire the high profiled Kimbo, White confirmed definitely that Kimbo Slice is gone and sent packing away from the UFC.

As what White quoted at the post fight conference - That's probably Kimbo's last fight in the UFC. Listen, Kimbo made it farther than I thought he would.

So that’s it folks there will be no more Kimbo Slice rematch with Roy Nelson and UFC fight anymore.

Another fighter who was given the door to exit by UFC President Dana White is Paul Daley who was considered perhaps the most explosive welterweight striker in the UFC. Paul Daley losses the fight to Josh Koscheck by a unanimous decision. The win was by far the biggest of Koscheck career that earn him a shot to coach the next season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show that will start few weeks and earned a crack to slug with St. Pierre this December.

So what did Daley do to make Dana White show him the exit door at the UFC? Yeah, the fight was full of deceiving antics of Koscheck but Daley’s unsportsmanlike actions made the most noise that got the ire of White. It was after the fight when Daley started throwing words at Koscheck and suddenly hit Koscheck with a sucker punch. An ill-manner that hasn’t been seen in the entire UFC history and become the only second person fired by Dana White for poor sportsmanship manner which the first is Renato Babalu Sobral. Though Sobral win in the match with David Heath, White fired him because the bad intention he did, he wouldn’t release a choke hold after Heath had passed out.

He’s done. He will never be back. I don’t care if he goes all over the world, goes on a winning streak, becomes the best 170-pound fighter in the world or even the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, he’s never fighting in the UFC again, Dana saying this with disgust on Daley.

So that’s it, a sad goodbye for Kimbo and a rude exit for Daley at UFC. Hope these guys will continue fighting in good ways.
